Frequently Asked Questions

New to yoga? New to meditation? You have found the right place! We want to create a welcoming environment at Peaceful Plum Yoga and Meditation, where you feel completely at home. Welcome!

I am new to yoga and meditation, can I attend classes?
Absolutely! We welcome you and hope you will give us a try! Our gentle classes are perfect for those new to yoga and meditation. We can help get you started exactly where you are!

I’m not flexible/”in shape” at all, can I do yoga?
Yes! Yes! Yes! Yoga is a practice that meets you exactly where you are, right now in this moment. Yoga is for all ages, shapes, sizes, and ability levels. Through a consistent practice of yoga flexibility increases and tension/stress decreases, allowing you to move in your body more easily!

What should I bring?
Just yourself! We have all that you need right here in the studio. We provide mats, blocks, bolsters, eye pillows, and blankets. If you have your own mat or other items you are welcome to bring them and whatever else you might need to make your experience just right.

What should I wear?
Wear comfortable clothing that you are able to move freely in. Be prepared to take off shoes before entering the studio space, there is an area for shoes and jackets. Yoga is usually practiced with bare feet, however if you do prefer socks you can find the kind with “grippy” bottoms to prevent slipping.

How much do classes cost?
Single class drop-ins are $16 per class. We have packages available that are available at a discounted rate. See our pricing page for further information.

How do I know what classes are right for me?
Most of our classes are tailored to all participants with absolutely no experience required! You can see our class descriptions page to see what each individual class offers. If there is a class that requires prior experience or is a little bit more active, it will be indicated under the description.

Can anybody attend Therapeutic Yoga
Yes, absolutely! All of our classes are very inclusive. Therapeutic yoga will move at a much slower rate and we will often use chairs, bolsters, and the wall within our session. This is a beautiful class if you are healing through an illness/injury, have a difficult time moving from the floor to seated to standing, or would enjoy a much slower paced class.

How do I know if meditation is right for me?
You just have to give it a try! Our meditation classes start out with centering and then we use gentle stretching to get the body ready for meditation. It is a great place to begin a meditation practice and build community. We hope you will check it out!
